Note: The type of connector used in Costa Rica is type A and B with a frequency of 60Hz and a voltage of 120, which means that you will be able to connect your devices without problems if you have a type A/B adapter, although we always recommend checking the specifications of the manufacturer of your product.

Cafeoteca is a rustic-style coffee shop in the center of Barrio Escalante, San José, Costa Rica. 

It is a quiet place to provide you with tranquility and has a beautiful green garden in the backyard. 

Among the options are drinks such as tea, coffee, smoothies and juices, in addition to breakfast and lunch options while you are working, reading or chatting with friends.

Café Otoya bistro

Cafe Otoya is a mix between a cafeteria and a bistro perfectly located in the historic Otoya neighborhood, offering gastronomy, art, history and a green lung in the middle of San José.

If you want to spend the whole day in this beautiful place, you can ask for the “work combo” package so you can have breakfast, lunch and even have coffee (produced in CR) or tea in the afternoon, plus they give you free drink refills!

Something that is not usual in Costa Rica but that this place offers and is worth mentioning is being able to sit at their tables located in front of the premises on the sidewalk to be able to appreciate some old buildings of the capital that are part of the History of Costa Rica.

Franco

Franco is a mix between a cafeteria and a restaurant, located in the Escalante neighborhood with a well-decorated backyard with plants and flowers all around with ample room to sit and enjoy the outdoors while working. 

It has multiple options for food and drinks for all tastes and the coffee is quite good. The only issue is that there are no connectors nearby on the garden side, but it does have connectors and tables from where you can see the patio.

Cuero, Papel & Tijera y Cafetería

Cuero, papel y tijera is a coffee shop and an extension of the “Cuero, Papel & Tijera” store located on the northside of Sabana park that offers a selection of excellent coffees. Their baristas have a good knowledge of the products and if you ask, they will tell you the respective characteristics of each available coffee at the moment.

The interior is well decorated to provide a calm and friendly environment in which you can work perfectly for long periods of time, plus they are pet-friendly!

Curiously, and despite being a cafeteria, they only serve coffee after 2pm but even so, it is still an interesting place to work and enjoy a 2D experience. Additionally, if you want a bit of nature, you can always go to the small garden they have In the back!
